Basic document flow rules

The document flow rules are worked out in every company and regulate everything starting from the organization of document flow to archived storage of documents.

The main structure of any document flow is the document itself. All documents should be coordinated according to certain rules of access to information and according to particularities of each carrier.

The rules according to which should go document proceeding are called the organization of document flow. The organization of document flow combines all document movements and proceeding in the company:

  • Reception
  • Transfer
  • Preparation and execution
  • Filing of documents

Document flow is an important part of workflow. Well-organized document flow speeds the proceeding of each document. Document operations should be regulated by the instruction on workflow in the organization and by standardized document forms.
