Why does the system sometimes work slow?

When you connect to core Database Engine command "play" is running on the TCP / IP protocol. Unless IP-address is specified, a search procedure is executed to match the server name corresponding to a particular IP-address.

The specialists of our company experimentally found out that if in the settings of bbconfig.exe tne name of the SQL-server contains more than 8 characters (without naming SQL-instance), then the response from the bb workspace  system takes more time. Especially this slow-down of the system is seen on PC with Vista and Windows 7operating systems.

To localize the situation you need:

• In the settings bbconfig.exe in the field "Name Server" clearly specify the IP-address of the server. For example, instead of "SERVER_SED_MAINOFFICE/SQL2005" specify "172.24.0.186/SQL2005", where "/ SQL2005" - this instance SQL-server. If the instance SQL-server is not used (SQL is the default), it's enough to specify only the IP-address of the server.
