As a result of many years of working with documents, the volume of the operational database can be more than 100 GB. And although the application provides a function for transferring documents stored in blob fields to separate archive databases for each calendar year, the operational database increases due to the volume of metadata.

Refactoring the code in terms of working with large volumes of metadata when reading records into the registry of the eDocs.exe application, made it possible to increase the speed of such reading from an average of 100 records per second to 400 records per second, i.e. 4 (four) times. Depending on the hardware used, the size of the database and the number of users, the average speed of reading metadata can reach 2000 records per second.

Acceleration of work with metadata of the bb workspace system affected all functional visual layers: bb docflow, bb budget, bb crm, bb staff.
